TRAINING FOR MEN
“There are no treadmills or distractions at my gym! You will not find any fancy locker rooms, air conditioning, or “fluffy” music. What you will find is an incredibly motivating and intense atmosphere, the best training equipment in the world, oh and I’m pretty fuc…g good too! Training is primal… So train.”
This page is designed to call on individuals or groups of men who have a passion to be better. No matter what your goal – self improvement, competitive lifting, or sports – the intimate environment at POW(R) creates a training atmosphere that pushes you to be your best. Don’t get me wrong, you don’t just break your back with heavy weights. Pushing your limits, whether it’s 5 more sprints, an extra rep, or one more tire flip, is our motto. Strive to be your best! Face it, you get only one shot at life. LIVE HARD!
All of the training methods used at Pow(R) Performance are based upon solid athletic principles. Whether you are overweight and body composition (getting leaner) is your main objective, or you are already an athlete, I will improve your athletic movements, mobility, stability, strength, endurance, power, speed, and agility to make you a balanced, well rounded, and healthy individual.
Methods are many, but principles are few. Some gyms make progress with a “balls out” training mentality – bust your butt hard enough, for long enough, and you will get stronger. I believe in that, but, I also believe in measured progress. Attitude is a great measure of progress; a strong mind makes for a strong work ethic. Documentation is another measure of progress. I log your numbers to show measured improvement. Whether you consider yourself to be a “Regular Joe” or an athlete, the measuring of weights, reps, rest, and various forms of athletic testing (vertical jumps, broad jumps, timed events), keeps you consistently moving forward. WE LOG IT TO PROVE IT!
FACT: MEN ARE SHOWING SIGNS OF AGING (MAN BOOBS, POOR POSTURE, E.D.) MUCH EARLIER IN LIFE.
Let’s face it men, we are not aging gracefully. Training is proven scientifically to be the number one anti-aging resource today. By creating stress on the body through training, we cause muscles and hormones to adapt by increasing testosterone and growth hormone. These hormonal responses are what make men, men. So whether you have high blood pressure, poor posture or just plain feel like shit, training makes us younger physically, hormonally and mentally.
If you want more, then do more.

Guys, there came a point in my training that I looked in the mirror and said, “You’re sexy.” But after I said that, I was discouraged by the fact that I was at my overly-commercialized, overly-everything gym and getting NO BETTER. I didn’t like where I was and didn’t like being in a maintenance phase. I started training with Ben three years ago and am a better athlete at 36yrs old than ever! I wish I had found this training sooner. I’m 220lbs, bench 300+, squat 500+, deadlift 500+, perform 42″ box jumps, will sprint with anyone, and play basketball with the 20yr old kids weekly (and do pretty well). Ben took me beyond all of my plateaus and made me better. Strength triumphs when others fail
